The Northwestern University campus is home to the Block Museum of Art and the 80-year old Shakespeare Garden. Evanston Art Center has been enriching the community for over 68 years. The annual Fountain Square Arts Festival takes over one of the town's business streets to display hundreds of arts and crafts. Country Home Magazine ranks the city's Fourth of July celebration as one of the top five in the country.
Performing arts have a strong presence in the community. The Evanston Symphony Orchestra is a polished community group that performs four concerts between November and May each year.
